Events scheduled this week at the Ranch

SUNDAY, JUNE 15 – 7:00 p.m.
Guest Faculty Lecture
Sara Ransford & Rich Tannen
Ceramics / Woodworking
Aspen-based artist Sara Ransford received a B.F.A. from the University of Colorado-Boulder, studied at Alfred University and served as an artist-in-residence at Anderson Ranch. Her ceramic sculptures are inspired by the mysterious power found in life’s processes and historical marks left by events in nature. Her work is exhibited nationally.
Rich Tannen teaches in the Furniture Design and Woodworking Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He exhibits his work extensively, which is represented in many well-known public and private collections. He has received numerous honors, including individual artists’ fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Arts Council and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Guest Faculty Lecture
Cig Harvey & Jason Houston
Photography
Cig Harvey’s photographs have been exhibited widely and are in the permanent collections of major museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the International Museum of Photography, George Eastman House, Rochester, N.Y. Her monograph, “You Look At Me Like An Emergency,” was published by Schilt Publishing in 2012. Cig teaches workshops and lectures at institutions around the world.
Jason Houston has more than 20 years of experience working internationally on assignments for editorial and organizational clients. He is a fellow at the International League of Conservation Photographers and served as photo editor for Orion magazine from 2004-2012. He is a board member for Blue Earth Alliance.
