Aspen High School Photo Contest Winners!

On October 15th, the Aspen High School Photography Club announced the winners of its inaugural photo contest. Dylan DeGraff, son of Anderson Ranch trustee Liza Mauck, founded the Aspen High School Photography Club and said he did it “to promote collaboration and creativity through photography, to share and critique the photographs of peers, and to spread the love of student photography throughout the Aspen and Roaring Fork community”.

As a way to bring the whole community together Dylan wanted to host a photography contest that the surrounding high schools could participate in. He got the Aspen High School College Counseling Department to agree to let the work submitted through this contest be displayed at the Western Slope College Fair.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center was pleased to be a co-sponsor of this event along with The Colorado Western Slope College Fair and club mentor professional photographer Kate Holstein. The winners were picked from 102 photos submitted by 34 students representing 15 Western Slope high schools. Anderson Ranch donated the printing of the top 15 photographs, which were exhibited during the College Fair. Josef Lloyd of Basalt High School won first place with his photo title “infantile” and won a week long photography workshop at Anderson Ranch.
