Memory and perception are specific to each individual: how one sees and remembers the space around them is how one andersonranch.orgs reality. This workshop explores that notion by combining traditional landscape painting with modern and contemporary techniques. We use nature as a departure point for invention and experimentation. We work in the studio and out in the landscape, focusing on color mixing and theory, spatial representation, observational rendering and abstraction, through modern and contemporary techniques.thumb_create.phpGrant Hottle lives and works in Portland, Ore. He shows in national venues, including the Seattle Art Museum Gallery, Swarm Gallery, Laura Russo Gallery and the Samsøn Gallery. He teaches at Lewis and Clark College and was included in “Portland2012: A Biennial of Contemporary Art.”
