Anderson Ranch is proud to present While the Wind Was Blue by Tyler Beard, currently on exhibit at the Patton-Malott Gallery on campus. This exhibition showcases works on paper, sculpture and paintings to investigate the interaction of color, material, geometry and image.
Beard states, “In each composition, I seek a soothing formalism in which each part is necessary for the whole. I often think of the poetic structure and qualities found in a Haiku as each piece comes together.” Beard is continually cultivating a visual language where complexity and abstraction connect to challenge the viewer to observe, contemplate and react.
Originally from Olathe, Kansas, Tyler graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Master of Fine Arts degree in studio art. In the summer of 2008, he traveled to Berlin where he was an artist-in-residence at the Ceramic Center. Beard had his first solo exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver in March 2013. He is represented by Robischon Gallery and currently lives and works in Denver, Colorado.
The closing reception for this exhibition will be Tuesday, February 27 from 5 – 7 p.m at the Patton-Malott Gallery. Refreshments will be provided. The exhibition is on view until February 28.
