The talent that surrounds us at Anderson Ranch Arts Center continues to amaze and delight. From the guest instructors that share their knowledge and expertise to the students who frequent our programs, there is no shortage of talent present here at the Ranch. And, of course, there are our employees. Tonight (September 10, 2013), we have the honor of featuring one of our staff member’s latest projects. Andrea Wallace, Artistic Director for Photography, New Media, and Summer Workshops, is featuring her current selection of images, Toward Amnesia. The opening reception for the exhibit is from 5 to 7 p.m. MST.
A very powerful and compelling display, this project has been a deeply personal one for Wallace. In a recent Aspen Times article, she discusses the origins of the work and her thought process going into the project, including the topic of willful amnesia and whether one can truly bring amnesia upon themselves in order to escape from painful memories and feelings.
If you have the opportunity to visit Anderson Ranch Arts Center, stopping in to see the exhibit is a must. Toward Amnesia will be on view September 10 – 30, 2013.
