Your Guide to Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will you be running in person workshops this summer?
A: Yes, we are planning to have in person classes in summer 2021 with safety protocols in place for social distancing and strict adherence to public health guidelines. We are excited to offer you over 140 courses across seven disciplines with world-class instructors and state-of-the-art studio spaces. Click here to check out our spring and summer workshops.
Q: What about class sizes?
A: Workshop capacity is determined by the number of students we are able to have in a classroom while providing for social distancing. Therefore each workshop will have a different capacity based on the space and other considerations.
Q: Will the Café be open?
A: All offerings will be available for purchase à la carte in the Ranch Café. All food preparation is overseen by ServSafe-certified employees. The Café has comfortable indoor and outdoor seating in accordance with current health and safety guidelines, plus we will have dining areas across campus. For your convenience, Ranch Café Gift Cards will be distributed as a QR code, which is scanned from your phone at checkout and can also be used online to place an order.
Q: What housing options will be available?
A: Shared housing will not be available. Click here for information about single-occupancy housing and local lodging options.
Q: What safety precautions will you have in place on campus?
A: As of June 20, 2021, Anderson Ranch Arts Center will follow a “mask optional” guideline for all vaccinated individuals on the Ranch campus. We will continue requiring masks for all children’s and teen classes unless there is proof of vaccination. Those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask and remaining physically distant will be invited to continue those practices. We warmly welcome all guests, asking that those individuals who are unvaccinated continue to wear their masks on the Anderson Ranch campus, except outdoors and when six feet or more of physical distance can be achieved. The Ranch will also continue to perform a rigorous cleaning and sanitizing schedule, as well as provide advanced air purification in buildings, offer health screenings on campus and testing where appropriate. Q: Are there any recommended resources to find out about COVID in Colorado and the Aspen/Snowmass area before I travel?
A: We expect for state and local public health orders to continue to be updated as needed to protect public health, which may impact our operations. For more information, please visit the following resources: Pitkin County COVID-19 Response and Recovery Website and Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
Q: Are you requiring a negative COVID test?
A: Yes, in alignment with Pitkin County guidelines, we are currently requiring a negative COVID-19 test result that is no more than 72 hours old. Additionally, all travelers coming to Pitkin County must complete an online Traveler Affidavit prior to arrival.
Q: Will I be required to be vaccinated for COVID before my class?
A: At this time, we are not requiring COVID vaccinations, however that could change as we continue to follow guidance from Pitkin County as well as the CDC. We strongly encourage you to get vaccinated prior to attending your workshop(s) if you have the opportunity to do so.
Q: Will you be having events on campus?
A: Yes, we plan to hold in-person events on campus. We continue to follow health orders closely to safely host events on campus this summer. As always, the health and safety of our workshop participants, visitors, and staff is of the utmost importance to us.
Q: Will you be running any virtual workshops during the summer?
A: Yes, virtual workshops will be offered via zoom in addition to our in person classes. Please choose Innovation Studios under Workshops to see a full list. Any workshop that will be held online has Virtual Workshop in the title.
