Feats of Clay: Expanding the Possibilities of Ceramics
David Hollander
Tuition $1,910
Code C1318-25
This course covers the springy, rubbery, and mobile aspects of fired ceramics. Students build ceramic springs, join unfired pieces of clay to fired clay, and explore the untold properties of ceramics. Students learn how to augment their forms by using the kiln as a shaping tool. A fired object is no longer just an end point, but also a beginning. By exploring these experimental possibilities, students work toward developing a personal process vocabulary to add to their studio practices.
