Parent Artist-In-Residence Program

A New Initiative

After launching a successful Family Residency Pilot Program in the fall of 2023, Anderson Ranch Arts Center is extending a warm welcome to artists and their families by launching a new Parent Artist-In-Residence program. This initiative is designed to enrich the lives of artists and their loved ones, ensuring that art becomes an even more integral part of their journey together.

The Parent Artist-In-Residence program is available to artists who would like to bring a child or children and a partner or caretaker to Anderson Ranch during their 5-week residency. This will allow the artist to participate in the residency program without leaving their family behind. Each residency cohort consists of approximately 15 artists, including one Parent Artist who will be joining Session II of the spring 2026 residencies.

Additional Considerations:

  • Children must be under 18 years of age.
  • A partner or caretaker must also accompany the child or children to provide childcare.
  • Due to housing constraints, the number of participants is limited to 4 people. They will be housed together in one of the on-campus cabins or apartments.
  • Children are not permitted in the studios for safety reasons.

Spring 2026 Cohort

The launch of Anderson Ranch’s new Parent Artist-In-Residence program will happen with Session 2 of the Spring 2026 cohort, representing an exciting departure from conventional residency models. By embracing artists and their families, we are fostering a culture of inclusivity and creativity. We look forward to this initiative’s positive impact on artists and their loved ones, and we are excited to see how this program transforms lives and shapes a more inclusive artistic community. Applications open December 13 2024 for Fall 2025-Spring 2026, including one Parent Resident for Spring 2026 Session.
